Thruxton was originally a wartime airfield and boast's legendary high
speed corners and a great reputation. In 1968 a new layout was created
ignoring the old runways but followed the lines of the perimeter road
and added the chicane and further round the track three corners in quick
succession, thus creating what we know now as Thruxton motor sport
